Bellary Campaign Ends - Sriramulu to Float New Party

Bellary, Nov 28 (PTI) : Rebel leader B Sriramulu, a close associate of jailed mining baron G Janardhana Reddy, today announced plans to float a new political party in Karnataka, three days after BJP suspended six of its elected representatives including two MPs for anti-party activities.

"I will form a new political party in the state. Some of the (BJP) legislators will join the new outfit. The outlines of the new party will take concrete shape after Janardhana Reddy comes out of jail," Sriramulu said addressing a rally at Cowl Bazar area on the last day of electioneering for the November 30 bypoll to Bellary Rural seat.

Sriramulu, who quit the saffron party and is seeking re-election as an independent in the bye-election, brushed aside state unit BJP President K S Eswarappa's remarks that the door of the party remained closed for the rebel leader.

"Let Eswarappa guard his party legislators from going to other parties. Let him secure the doors of his own party," Sriramulu said.

He claimed he had backing of several legislators in North Karnataka region and also the support of the people.

Janardhana Reddy was arrested by CBI in connection with its probe into illegal mining has been lodged in a Hyderabad jail since August five.

Sriramulu also apologised to Opposition Congress leader Siddaramaiah for his supporters disrupting an election rally in Bellary on November 26.

The BJP on November 25 suspended two MPs -- J Shanta, Sanna Fakirappa -- and four legislators, including three MLAs, who defied the party directive and supported Sriramulu in the bypoll.

Sriramulu, a trusted lieutenant of mining barons G Janardhana Reddy and G Karunakara Reddy, quit assembly membership after he was denied a ministerial berth following his indictment along with the Reddy brothers in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining.

So it is true that the next state assembly elections is big fight between BJP,Ramulu, congress,JDS. And it will be a tough situation for DVS to form another BJP government without Reddys.

    Louis Kuwait,

Ramulu is indicted in Lokayukta report. His clan is involved in illegal mining. How come you support a corrupted person launching new party?

KRV is doing good job in Karnataka which our state govt failed to do.
I would like to bring few points into your attention why I support KRV.

    1. In the past railway exams held in Karnataka, there used to be only 16 candidates from K'taka out of 100. Rest all Biharis and other state people. KRV is the one who fought against this and brought justice. Out state govt was silent. This is the reason why you see 70% mallus in Mlore railway station.

    2. According to the rule D group jobs has to be given to locals in Central Govt offices. Recently 500 D-group jobs were decided to give to other state people in HAL Blore violating the rule. KRV fought against this and ensured state people were appointed. Our govt was silent.

    3. Go to Infosys Chennai - Tamilians are majority. Go to Infosys Hyderabad - Telugus are majority. Come to Infosys Blore/Mysore/Mlore - Kannadigas are very less. (I've seen this personally)

    4. Bangalore is well connected to other states thru railways. Our cities are not connected to our capitol. Mangalore is the 2nd highest revenue generating city in the state. Still we don't have good railway connection between 2 important cities of the state.

How long we should watch this silently? If we don't get jobs in our own state where we should go?

So we need a strong regional party. KRV is best fit for that.

More and more regional parties are not good, in the intrest of our democracy and development as a whole.Sometime we see thier interest only limited to thier own business and to thier family as heridatary. We can see many parties as an example to us all.

Congress must be watching and having a quiet smile knowing that "Ibbara Jagala, Mooraneyavarige Adaya". It is very likely that congress candidate will win in Bellary this time. Tragedy is none of the three parties (BJP, Congress & JDS) in the state are fit to manage (the word rule does not fit into the democratic system) the state. Probably if present CM works independent of Yeddy & Ananth Kumar group may be able to serve the state better, though it is practically impossible .

New party name is YSR Party (Yeddy, Shri Ramulu n Reddy Party.) Go ahead Sri Ramulu, u built BJP now pull it from Karnataka along with it roots. Full support to you. Let the BJP govt come down by the end of this year. Bcz of this govt policy's Karnataka public is suffering. Shiv Sena has closed Belgaun kolaphur highway n all business establishments of Kannadigas are closed. If it was congress it won't have happened. Pakisthan led BJP is useless.

We need a regional political party in Karnataka to protect the interests of Kannadigas. BJP, Congress and JDS have failed to do that. Regional party can always be part of coalition government in center like parties of Kerala and TN.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike members should float a new political party by next assembly elections.

We are fed up with existing parties. They compromise with other states on everything, ultimately we kannadigas are the losers on everything.

I think otherwise, i guess it will be congress who'l be third if not loosing the deposit. Bjp for sure will loose but you losers should be more worried about congress loosing than BJP. You guys cant even think about winning any election and then wait for others to loose or feed on their leftovers. Goodluck.

Bellary politicians(Reddys)are by and large responsible to install South India's only BJP Govt! But the emerging scene from Bellary and plus gives an impression that the same politicians going to kill BJP Govt in Karnataka.Anyway BJP may fare third position and may unlikely in retaining DEPOSIT.
