Kundapur, Oct 6: In a strategic move to bolster grassroots support, former MLA K Gopal Poojari announced plans to identify and empower genuine Congress workers at every booth level.

Speaking at a vibrant workers' meeting at his Katabelthoor residence on Sunday, he welcomed new leaders from backward classes, highlighting their contribution to strengthening the Congress party.

Poojari expressed renewed confidence in securing more votes, thanks to the alignment of new members with the party's principles. He also emphasised the urgent need for funds from the chief minister and deputy chief minister for local development initiatives, stating, "My commitment to this constituency remains unwavering."

With Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat, and Hemmadi Panchganga Society elections on the horizon, Poojari urged party workers to unite and ensure victory for Congress candidates.

Nagaraj Putran, former president of the Katabelthoor Grama Panchayat, and U Satyanarayana Rao, former president of the Hemmadi Grama Panchayat, publicly joined the party, receiving the Congress flag from Poojari amid applause from supporters.

The meeting underscored the party's focus on grassroots mobilisation as it gears up for a competitive electoral season.
