Mangaluru, Oct 7: The 33rd session of the All India Konkani Parishad will take place on October 26 and 27, at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Goa.

The two-day event will be inaugurated on the morning of October 26 by Dr Ganesh Devi, a renowned writer and language scholar. The parishad will discuss various issues related to the Konkani language, including its role in education and the use of technology for language development. Delegates from Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Goa are expected to attend. Fr Mouzinho Ataide has been nominated as the president of the parishad, a position he will hold for two years. Prashant Naik, former president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, is the chairman of the reception committee, while Anant Agni and Mangaldas Bhat serve as the working president and secretary of the organizing committee, respectively.

A delegation led by Chetan Acharya, working president of the parishad, along with Prashant Naik and Sudin Lolayekar, visited Karnataka and Kerala to mobilize delegates for the event.

Founded in 1939 by the late Madhav Manjunath Shanbag, the parishad continues to work for the development of the Konkani language and its community. The organizers have called upon Konkani speakers from Karnataka to attend the event in large numbers.

The press conference was addressed by Chetan Acharya and Prashant Naik. Dr Kasturi Mohan Pai, H M Pernal, Titus Noronha, and Melvyn Rodrigues were also present.
