Mangaluru, Oct 8: The Sharadi Pratistana, in collaboration with Kudroli Gokarnanatha Kshethra, organized the Muddu Sharade and Navadurge costume competition on Sunday as part of the Dasara festivities.
Inaugurating the event, P Padmaraj Poojary, treasurer of Kudroli Kshethra, praised the initiative, stating, "It is a wonderful idea to host the Muddu Sharade and Navadurge costume competition during the Dasara festival. When Puneek Shetty from Sharadi Pratistana approached us for support, we gladly agreed, as it's our duty to encourage such positive initiatives."
Poojary added, "Under the guidance of B Janardhana Poojary, the driving force behind Kudroli Kshethra, we strive to bring new ideas to the Dasara celebrations. Today’s Dasara Marathon, with over 1,000 participants from Karnataka and other states, is a testament to that."
Hotel entrepreneur Ramesh Nayak commented on the noble intentions behind the competition, saying, "The work of a pure heart always prevails. Seeing the little ones dressed as Muddu Sharade, a reflection of the goddess, is truly heart-warming."
P B Harish Rai, president of Mangaluru Press Club, noted that the competition reflects the rich art and culture of the region. Former Union Minister and pillar of Kudroli Kshethra, B Janardhana Poojary, personally interacted with the children, wishing them all success in the competition.
Srinivas Nayak Indaje, president of the Dakshina Kannada working journalists’ association, was also present at the event.
