Cash, gold ornaments stolen in broad daylight from two houses in Bantwal

Bantwal, Oct 10: Thieves made off with cash and gold ornaments from the houses of Pushparaj and Krishnappa Kulal in Kemanaje, Indikidu village of Vittal taluk, in broad daylight on Wednesday.

From Pushparaj's house, the thieves stole 15 sovereigns of gold ornaments, while they took Rs 12,000 in cash from Krishnappa Kulal's house.

Family members from both households had gone to attend an idol installation ceremony at Sharadmaba Bhajana Mandir in Alakkemajalu Ashoknagar. The theft was discovered when they returned.

Vittal police have arrived at the scene and are conducting further investigations.
