Bellary Bypoll Peaceful, 70 Percent Cast Ballot

Bellary, Nov 30 (PTI): About 70 percent of the electorate cast their ballot in Bellary (rural) bypoll in Karnataka where the ruling BJP is locked in a bitter contest with its former leader B Sriramulu who is seeking re-election as an independent.

"The polling was completely peaceful", an Election Commission official said.

With 133 polling booths identified as hypersensitive and 52 sensitive out of the total 195, the Assembly segment had come under a thick security blanket with some 2,500 personnel, including four companies of central paramilitary force, civil police and home guards, deployed.

Sriramulu, a former Health Minister, quit the seat after being indicted in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining, and parted ways with the BJP by contesting as an independent.

It's seen as a prestigious battle for the ruling BJP, after the Reddy brothers and former Ministers -- G Janardhana Reddy and G Karunakara Reddy, who had been given free hand in the district party affairs -- drifted away from it.

In the run-up to the fiercely contested bypoll, BJP suspended two Lok Sabha members, three MLAs and one MLC who backed Sriramulu. P Gadilingappa is the BJP candidate, while the Congress has fielded B Ramprasad in this triangular contest. JD(S) of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda has extended support to Sriramulu. The counting is scheduled for December 4.

1)Congress is NOT a secular party. It wants to create vote banks of minority and devide people on cast n religion. It is aganist comon civil code.
    2) Price of pentrol is controlled by global market, But congress didnot lower the comodity prices for common man. Price raise is a MAIN issue for common man.
3)Congree ruled majorly during 65years and India is far behind. We are not super power. See China and comment.
    4) Corruption is the birth right of Congress. Starting from Jeep scam in 1948 to 2G/3G.
    5) Congress high command is involved in corruption. Can somebody question Gandhi family. Nobody has guts in congress.
    6) BJP reelased terrorist to save inocents. What law you are talking about which takes years together and crores of money to hang Afzal Guru and Kasab?
    7) FDI is acurse to India and nowadays indian retailers are already directly dealing with farmers. Why FDI?

Congress is the party which devided India into India and Pakistan based on religion. I am not sure on what basis you say : Hindus were very noble in the past. For your information, Majority vs minority clash was there from ages (before 1947) and not due to BJP.

I am not a BJP supporter, but your reasons to support Congress are NOT valid.

Sujith Pollai, People should vote for congress bcz:
1)Congress is a secular party does not devide people on cast n religion.
    2) Congress already reduced price of Petrol by Rs. 2 few days before n today again Rs. 0.65 paise. (petrol prices are increased bcz raise in crude oil globally.
3)All developmental work in India n Karnataka resulted during congress regime. BJP gives only empty promises.
    4) Despite large scale corruption in BJP no action was taken until Lokayukta report.
    5) In congress too there is corruption but high command has taken strict action as soon they got proof.
    6) Law will take it's own time to punish the guilty who kill innocent people. Congress he'll bent to stop terrorism. But BJP exchanged the Pakistani terrorist and left him for safe heaven in Afghanistan. Who's better congres or BJP?
    7) FDI will bring down the inflation and kill the middle man who is taking 75% of profits. Farmer is getting only cost of his product without any profit. As he cannot store goods and wait for better price for his market.
Congress too is corrupt but it's congress who made India super power in today's world. BJP only devided india. Hindus were very noble in the past. But BJP has poisioned there mind against minorities, just for the sake of votes.
Hope u got your answer best of luck. God bless you.
