Mangaluru, Oct 15: The association of Christian philosophers of India (ACPI) in collaboration with the Chair in Christianity, Mangalore University, is set to organize the 47th annual research conference themed 'HOPE: philosophizing from multi-horizons'. Scheduled for October 19-21, at St Joseph’s interdiocesan seminary in Mangaluru, this conference aims to delve into the philosophical dimensions of hope.

This gathering will feature a diverse range of papers, each exploring hope from unique philosophical angles. Topics range from examining hope within the context of illness and suffering, to metaphysical explorations inspired by an array of philosophers.

About ACPI

Founded in 1976 in Aluva, Kerala, the association of Christian philosophers of India (ACPI) began as a small group of Indian Christian philosophers gathering to discuss relevant philosophical questions. The annual conferences foster philosophical discussions through presentations of research papers on recurring themes relevant to Christian philosophy.

About Chair in Christianity (CIC)

Established in 1987 at Mangalore University through the efforts of bishop Basil D’Souza, the Chair in Christianity (CIC) promotes academic study of Christianity alongside other branches of knowledge. It encourages interdisciplinary and research-based approaches to understanding Christianity, its philosophy, ethics, and impact on society, particularly in the Indian context.
