Udupi, Oct 15: "The time has come for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to resign, and many senior Congress leaders are waiting for his departure," asserted B Y Vijayendra, the state president of the BJP, during a press conference here as part of the MLC election campaign.

Vijayendra emphasised that the Congress party is rife with internal strife, stating, "There is already a long list of aspirants for the chief minister position, which will soon be made public. Siddaramaiah's corruption charges have made his resignation imperative."

He expressed confidence in the BJP's chances, declaring, "People are fed up with the Congress government, which has delivered no development. We will win all three constituencies in this by-election and earn the public's blessings."

On preparations for the by-election in Shiggaon, Channapatna, and Sandur, Vijayendra noted, "Our workers are dedicated to ensuring victory for the BJP and the NDA alliance in all three constituencies. The party will announce the candidate for Channapatna tomorrow, with selections for Sandur and Shiggaon to follow shortly."

Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, also addressing the media, remarked on the evolving dynamics within the Congress. "Anyone can vie for the chief minister's position; it's up to them. A new unwritten rule seems to be emerging," he said, assuring that senior leaders, including the party president, are in contact with C P Yogeshwar, indicating no internal conflicts.

Commenting on Kharge's return of a disputed site, Narayanaswamy stated, "Anyone can steal, but returning the site doesn't absolve them of their actions. This won't diminish our resolve. Under our party president's leadership, we are fighting effectively. The election-like atmosphere is already palpable. They lack the intellect; that's why they find themselves in such disarray."
