Sullia: Complaint filed against forest officer for derogatory remarks against women

Sullia, Oct 18: A complaint has been lodged with Bellare police against a sub-zonal forest officer for allegedly making derogatory remarks about women of a particular community.

The complaint names Panja sub-zonal forest officer Sanjeeva Poojary Kaniyoor, accusing him of using offensive language during a phone conversation with another individual. The audio of this conversation has since gone viral.

Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Puttur district, has filed the complaint and demanded the immediate suspension of the officer. The incident has sparked widespread public outrage, with many calling for action against the accused. Reports suggest that preparations are underway for a protest.

Previously, the same officer faced allegations for making derogatory posts about Bhajans, leading to a complaint being filed with the department.
