Mangaluru, Oct 18: A vibrant new educational facility, SCS Preschool, officially opened its doors today, marking an exciting addition to its already existing preschools. Since the establishment of its first preschool in 2018 at Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru, SCS Group of Institutions has consistently expanded its presence.
In 2023, SCS Preschool was introduced at the Riverside Campus on Long Lane, Urwa, featuring world class infrastructure and state-of-the-art facilities. The newest addition to the expanding family of prescools is SCS Preschool at Kodialguthu, designed to offer students a home away from home experience.
The inauguration ceremony, held at its campus at Kodialguthu, brought together the management, educators, well-wishers, parents, and enthusiastic children to celebrate this milestone.
The event kicked off with a welcome address by the coordinator of the school, Charishma. The principal, Vinaya D’Souza, offered a floral welcome to the chief guest Dr Rajneesh Sorake, president, SCS Group of Institutions, guest of honour U K Khalid, administrative officer, SCS Group of Institutions, advocate Sridevi, legal advisor, SCS Group of Institutions, heads of various institutions under the SCS banner.
U K Khalid, highlighted the significance of early childhood education. “We are delighted to offer a safe and inspiring environment where children can explore, learn, and grow,” he stated
“At SCS Preschools, we believe in nurturing creativity and curiosity from a young age” he added.
Dr Rajneesh Sorake, president of the SCS Group of Institutions, inaugurated the school with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony. Following this, the dignitaries present joined him in lighting a lamp, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the illumination of knowledge.
Guests, enjoyed a guided tour of the facility, showcasing its modern classrooms, an outdoor playing area, sensorial path, and interactive learning areas designed to engage young minds. The preschool’s curriculum emphasises play-based learning, social development, and hands-on activities that cater to the diverse needs of children.
SCS Preschool is proud to be one of the first preschools in Mangaluru to introduce the innovative jolly phonics programme. This approach focuses on awareness and encourages children to learn through engaging, hands-on activities. “By incorporating jolly phonics, we aim to foster a strong foundation in literacy and a love for reading from an early age” stated Vinaya D’Souza, the principal of SCS Preschools, Mangaluru.
