Yogeshwara will become sacrificial lamb as Congressmen are miffed in Channapatna: BJP

Bengaluru / Shiggaon (Haveri), Oct 25: Leader of Opposition in Assembly and senior BJP leader R Ashoka on Friday claimed that the Congressmen in Channapatna have been miffed at BJP MLC C P Yogeshwara has been chosen as candidate at the last minute, who will become a sacrificial lamb.

Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, he said the JD(S) leader and Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil, who has been chosen as the NDA candidate, will win with a big margin. “Both JD(S) and BJP leaders and workers are united while there is rebellion in Congress party,” he said.

The BJP leader said: “Sympathy factor is working for Nikhil, who had lost twice in a row in Mandya Lok Sabha election and Ramanagara assembly polls. All of us had tried our best to ensure Yogeshwara was chosen as NDA candidate, who was even offered the NDA ticket on JD(S) symbol. But he refused and will pay the price.”

End Cong misrule by electing BJP: Bommai

Meanwhile, BJP MP for Haveri and former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai urged people in Shiggaon constituency to end the Congress party’s misrule and maladministration by electing BJP candidates, including his son Bharat, in the
assembly by-elections.

He said former chief minister B S Yediyurappa and Union minister Prahlad Joshi  were responsible for establishing a medical college in Shiggaon.

Yediyurappa, Prahlad Joshi and other senior BJP leaders participated in the roadshow for the filing of nomination papers by Bharat Bommai as BJP candidate in Shiggaon.

Bharat Bommai said he will continue the developmental works taken up by his father and work for the welfare of the people.
