Mangaluru, Oct 28: This year ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight was observed across the country from September 17 to October 2 with the theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata -Sanskaar Swachhata’. This year also marks the 10th Anniversary of the launch of Swachh Bharath Mission.
In response to the call given to recognize the contribution of sanitation workers, the Mangaluru Customs Commissionerate has taken an initiative to hold a free cancer screening and awareness programme for the sanitation workers of Mangaluru City Commissionerate and their families.
It will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at CODP, next to Padua High School, Nanthoor, Mangaluru from 1.00 pm. This programme is organized by ‘Jewel Group’ in association with Indiana Cancer Centre and Indian Cancer Society.
The organizers have requested that the sanitation workers and their families may be encouraged to attend the same and get sensitized on the precautions to be taken to prevent cancer. Also, they can avail of this rare opportunity for free screening by team of doctors and other medical staff.
There will be a short stage programme at 3.00 pm.
