M'lore: Mandd Sobhann to Present 3rd Global Konkani Music Awards on Dec 11

Mangalore, Dec 6: The third Konkani Global Music Awards will be presented on Sunday December 11 at Kalaangann at 6.30 pm.
The Awards will be in six categories - Best Singer Female, Best Singer Male, Best Music Composer, Best Lyricist, Best Music Arranger and Best Music Album - 2010. Konkani Albums released in the year 2010, anywhere in the world, in any dialect of Konkani, are eligible for the Awards.

Out of 248 applications/nominations received this year, top three nominees in each of the six categories have been selected by a qualified panel of jury. All the top three nominees of each category will be invited to the Awards ceremony and honoured.
The final winners will be announced at the ceremony. Each winner will receive Rs 25,000 in cash and a trophy.
V Manohar, eminent music director of Kannada movies and also the music director of the Konkani Movie ‘Ujwadu’, will be the chief guest. The Sax-Trumpet Ensemble of the Tiatr Academy, Goa will provide instrumental music on the evening. Members of Nach Sobhann will entertain with their dances.
Joyce Ozario will be conferred the title 'Konkani Abolem', for her services to Konkani music for the last 40 years.
Entry will be free. All are invited.
