Dubai, Dec 7: Sandalwood actor, Darshan Toogudeepa, who is popularly known as Challenging Star, arrived at the Dubai International Airport on Tuesday, December 6 along with his wife, Vijayalaxmi, and mother, Meena Toogudeepa Srinivas.

Darshan, who was caught in a web of controversy relating to the domestic violence case slapped against him recently in Bangalore, is said have become a completely reformed person thereafter. The star will be the chief guest at the ‘Karnataka Rajyothsava – 2011’, being organized by Karnataka Sangha Dubai, which is presently led by a new team of young executive committee members, headed by Girish Shetty. The event will be held on December 9 at JSS School, Al Safa.

Karnataka Sangha Dubai vice president, K R Tantry, extended a warm welcome to Darshan and his family members by presenting a bouquet on their arrival.  Sangha’s executive committee members, Lawrence, Jayanth Shetty, Satish Venkatraman, Satish Shetty, and member of Sangha, Jagadish, were present at the airport to receive the guests.

According to Karnataka Sangha president, Girish Shetty, Rajyotsava celebrations will prove to be a complete entertainment package full of comedy, dances and orchestra by famous troupe of Kikkeri Krishnamurthy along with noted playback singers Ramesh Chandra, Nagachandrika Bhat and Zee TV Little Champ-fame Ashwin Sharma.

The remaining artistes are expected to arrive in Dubai on Thursday.

Cultural programmes by local artistes and dance by Dubai Rockers troupe and various other entertainment programmes by the members will also be staged on the occasion.

Entry will be free for all the Kannadigas.
