Mangalore: Litterateurs, Achievers to Amalgamate at Two-day Beary Sammelana 2011

Mangalore, Dec 7: Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy will host two-day ‘Beary Sammelana’ at Town Hall here on December 10 and 11.

Informing the same at a press meet here on Wednesday December 7, M B Abdul Rehman said that Harekala Hajabba (popularly known as ‘Akshara Santha) will inaugurate the convention by releasing five works on December 10 at 10 am.

Perime – research book, the bearys of Tulunadu by Prof. B M Ichlangodu, Tulunadina Byarigalu (translated by Tufail Mohammed), The beary language (Dr Sushila P Upadyaya) Beary Baashe (Translated by Dr Sushila P Upadyaya) are the five works to be released on the day.

Kendra Beary Sahithya Parishad founder president Abdul Raheem will introduce the works. Former Education Minister B A Moideen will inaugurate the exhibition, food mela and book stalls. Rs 10 lac grant is allotted by the Government and Rs 40 lac is the annual grant for the academy, he revealed.

On the occasion Harekala Hajabba will be acknowledged with the title ‘Akkarada Avadhootha’.
An interactive session on the topic ‘Beary badukina tallanagalu’ (‘divergence in Beary life’) at 11 am will be presided by Umar TK, Bangalore. Atthur Cheyabba will present his paper. Hamid Pallya of Suvarna news channel will be the host.

On the day, the achievers in the field of Beary movements and language - Dr Kaup Mohammed Dubai, G A Bava Bangalore, Basheer Bykampady, Dr Akhtar Hussain, Altaf Hussain, Mansoor Hejamady Bahrain, S M Sharif Madikeri, Mohammed Hanif Haji Mangalore will be felicitated.

Poet Ayisha U K Ullal will preside over a poets’ meet at 4.30 pm. A comedy drama ‘Mahasabha’ in beary language by Hussain Katipalla will be staged at 6.30 pm.

On Sunday December 11, ‘interaction with litterateur’ will be presided by Vaidehi, Kendra Sahithya Academy award winner litterateur at 10 am. Dr Na D’Souza, Dr Jayanth Kaikini and P Sheshadri will take part. The valedictory ceremony will commence at 3.30 pm, B A Moideen will preside. CM Sadananda Gowda, Corporate affairs minister Virappa Moily, will participate as special guests.

M B Abdul Rehman, Dr Sushila P Upadyaya, Prof B M Ichlangodu, Abdul Azeez Bykampady, Hamza Malar among others were present at the press meet.

    Happy to see the name of Mr. Mansoor Hejamady, Bahrain. I know about his contribution in setting up the Beary Website during the early days. He has also stood with Kannada/Tulu Community whenever we organize Mega Cultural Events in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Congratulations Mansoor, you deserve it.

    The BEARY SAMMELANA is a good step and we appreciate the efforts of the organizers they have succeeded to bring the grant from the govt 40 Lacs per annum, I would like to suggest that the fund should be utilized for the betterment of the culture and the tradition of beary samudaaya, especially for the poor kids education, there are many poor beary kids studying in govt schools and they are dreaming to have the same uniforms and want to spend the student life as English medium students are doing. But the financial background of the parents cannot afford the expense and they cannot meet their children’s dream. So I request BEARY SAMMELANA organizers or leaders to find those students they have vibrant dream and looking forward to go to school and study well but they don’t have proper support. We have to raise our helping hand to those kids first , This is the only way to bring up the community with the educational background, Religious (Madrasa) Education and School Education will help our kids to become a PRIDE BEARY of the Great Nation INDIA. GOOD LUCK Guyzz..
