Sullia, Nov 3: A young man was allegedly assaulted by a group for messaging a student from another community, in an incident reported from Elimale.
The youth, identified as Niyaz, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital following the assault.
According to reports, Niyaz had allegedly been messaging a local young woman, which prompted a group of youths to call him and subsequently attack him.
A case has been registered at the Subrahmanya police station.
