Dubai: Konkan Yuva Announces Christmas Crib Competition

Dubai, Dec 8: Konkan Yuva the dynamic group for youth from the Konkan belt residing in UAE have announced their second year Crib Competition for UAE residents. The competition is open to residents of Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Last day for entry to the contest is 20th Dec 2011.Evaluators will be visiting to judge the cribs from Dec 21-23, 2011

Category 1: Indoor crib
Category 2: Outdoor crib

Guidelines:

  • Contest is open to all residents of UAE only
  • Mandatory: Infant Jesus resting in a manger, Mary, and Joseph. Other figures in the scene may include angels, shepherds, and animals. The figures may be made of any material.
  • Any material and media may be used.
  • The Christmas crib must have a minimum of 80 cm Height x 40 cm Width.
  • All crib should have the name of people associated with build-up of crib securely attached to the crib.

Crib is a depiction of the birth of Jesus, hence we urge the contestants to encourage children to actively participate in the process of making the crib.

Assessment will give importance to handiwork, creative use of materials, originality and keeping to the traditional style.
