Udupi, Nov 3: Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr Vidya Kumari provided clarification regarding the appearance of the name ‘Sultanpur’ under survey number 120 in Udupi on the state government’s Dishaank app.
A previously unheard-of village name has gone viral on social media after it appeared on the government’s Dishaank app in Udupi city. Following recent concerns around Waqf property, many people began checking land records. During this process, it was observed that the Dishaank app recorded ‘Sultanpur’ under survey number 120 in Shivalli village, Udupi district, which also quickly spread on social media.
Dr Vidya Kumari clarified that the app displays "Sultanpura" under survey numbers 120 and 85 in Shivalli village, Udupi taluk. The village maps for these survey numbers in Shivalli village have been made available.
The public can download the complete village map at https://www.landrecords.karnataka.gov.in/ser.../Default.aspx, where "Sultanpur" does not appear in the village map, she clarified.
