Channapatna, Nov 4: In addition to hectic campaigning by Union Minister and JDS leader H D Kumaraswamy and BJP leaders including R Ashok and C N Ashwathanarayaan on behalf of Nikhil Kumaraswamy in the Channapatna assembly by-election, it is now the turn of Nikhil’s wife Revathi to campaign for the victory of her husband.
Revathi Kumaraswamy started her electioneering near the Channapatna bus stand and also the degree college from Monday morning.
JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda’s grand daughter in law took the opportunity of election campaigning to interact with women and college students. She posed for selfie picures with the girls.
Wearing a white saree with green borders to resemble the JDS flag colour, Revathi told the women and girl students that Nikhil Kumaraswamy will win with a big margin.
This is the third electoral battle for Nikhil Kumaraswamy, who was defeated in 2019 in the Mandya lok Sabha election against BJP-backed Independnt candidate Sumalatha Ambarish and also in the Ramanagara assembly polls in 2024. The seat was earlier held by H D Kumaraswamy’s wife Anita Kumaraswamy, who had given up the seat in favour of her son.
