Beltangady: Sacred Heart College hosts grand welcome for MCom freshers

Beltangady, Nov 5: The department of MCom at Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar, organized a heartwarming and vibrant fresher's day celebration titled 'Aagaman 2024' on November 5, at the MCom auditorium. The event was a joyous occasion dedicated to welcoming the first year MCom students into the college family.

The event was presided over by the college principal, Prof Alex Ivan Sequeira, who extended a warm welcome to the new students. Sharing the stage with him were Nelson Monis, the coordinator of the MCom department; Chinthan Gowda and Sadhana, class representatives of final-year MCom; and Pradeep and Jyothi, class representatives of first year MCom.

The formal programme commenced with a soulful prayer hymn led by Thejashree and her team, setting a serene tone for the event. In his inaugural address, Prof Sequeira encouraged students to pursue their passions with dedication and to focus on fields that inspire them. He highlighted the department's alumni achievements, noting that many are excelling in prestigious educational institutions, corporate roles, and even international placements. Expressing his gratitude to the senior students, he appreciated their efforts in organizing a memorable day for the freshers and urged the newcomers to work hard to achieve their goals.

The programme was brimming with exciting activities and interactive games designed to foster camaraderie among the students. The freshers and seniors showcased their artistic side with lively dance performances, adding a special touch to the festivities. Sneha, a final year MCom student, formally welcomed the gathering, while Sadhana delivered the vote of thanks. Pavan Shetty, the emcee, skilfully guided the proceedings, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
