New Delhi, Nov 5: The Supreme Court has issued a notice in response to a petition by retired army officer Capt Rakesh Walia, who sought to quash a rape case filed against him, alleging it to be false. Capt Walia, a senior citizen, claimed that the accusations were baseless and part of a pattern, as the woman in question has reportedly filed seven rape and molestation cases against nine men across various police stations in Delhi over the last eight years.

According to the police investigation, the woman’s allegations had inconsistencies, including records showing she was on a call during the time she alleged the assault occurred, undermining her claim of being drugged and raped in a car. Capt Walia, who is a cancer survivor and has suffered a heart attack due to the stress from this case, stated that he was asked to pay Rs 2 lac to avoid further legal trouble but chose instead to fight the accusations.

Capt Walia’s legal defense is supported by Ekam Nyaay Foundation, with advocate Ashwani Dubey representing him in court. The foundation has stood by Capt Walia in his fight for justice, underscoring its commitment to support victims of allegedly false accusations.

In a similar case, the Karnataka High Court recently quashed a Section 498A case against a man, where it was revealed that the woman had filed 10 rape and molestation cases against various individuals over the years.
