Mangaluru, Nov 6: In a distressing incident that unfolded early this morning at Bikarnakatte, two buses, Navadurga and Usha Travels, reportedly arriving from Gurpur, veered off the road onto a footpath and parking lot. The accident left several pedestrians injured and caused significant damage to parked vehicles.

Eyewitnesses at the scene cited over-speeding and intense competition between the two buses as the main reasons for the mishap. It is alleged that city buses often engage in reckless races, particularly during peak morning hours, which has been a cause of repeated accidents in the area.

Local residents immediately sprang into action, helping to transport the injured to nearby hospitals for medical attention. The Kankanady police arrived at the site to control the situation and ensure the safety of bystanders.

These accidents will continue to occur in our educated district, the reason being the bonding of Bus Owners, (Mainly with political connection) and the RTO and Police. Strange bedfellows but money is the bonding… overspending and reckless driving by these maniacs to get a few extra passengers will continue - as always there will be a knee jerk reaction, Police and DC will make a few statements, drivers will be seen on the road next day as on day of accident they will be relaxing with 8 PM Whiskey.🥃 One solution is for the public to give instant justice.
