Sullia: Youth arrested in temple theft case

Sullia, Nov 7: Subramanya police have arrested a youth in connection with the recent theft at the Abhaya Anjaneya Temple in Subramanya, which is managed by Kukke Sri Subramanya Temple.

The arrested suspect, identified as Veeranna Gowda (26) from Dharwad, allegedly stole pooja equipment and a CCTV camera from the temple on the night of November 3. Following a complaint filed by the CEO of the Kukke Temple, Subramanya police initiated an investigation.

Police identified the suspect through CCTV footage, which showed him wandering around the temple’s parking area. The stolen items, found in a gunny bag nearby, were recovered by the police. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.

The operation was led by Sullia CI Timmappa Naika, with SI Kartik and team members Mahesh, Akash, Naveen, Sandhya, Mahesh, Sathish, and Paramesh.
