Mangaluru: St Aloysius University lays foundation stone for new administrative block

Mangaluru, Nov 7: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) marked a significant milestone by laying the foundation stone for the new administrative block of the university on November 6. This new facility is not only a testament to the growth of the university but also a reminder of God’s blessings and community support in creating a space where knowledge, faith and service come together and flourish.

This new administrative block is the result of the countless hours of planning, prayer and the effort by the staff, board members, alumni and philanthropists. The vision for this building is to create a nurturing space where students can grow academically, spiritually and personally. This building will stand as a beacon of faith and learning for generations to come.

Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto, SJ, rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, vice chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Dr Melwyn D’Cunha, pro vice chancellor, Fr Vishwas Joy Misquith, finance officer, Dr Alwyn D’Sa and Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrars, Micheal D’Souza, the benefactor, Flavia D’Souza, Anil Hegde, structural engineer, Sanath Kumar Shetty, Sadanand Bhat and Urwi Shetty, the team of architects, Richard Rodrigues, the contractor, directors, deans, heads of the departments, and the teaching and non-teaching staff members were present for the programme and witnessed the sealing of the relics and the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone.

Rector, Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto, spoke about the reflections of the sealing of the relics and placing them into the foundation stone as a symbol of faith, dedication and purpose upon which the building will be built.

Philanthropist & benefactor, Micheal D’Souza in his speech reminded the importance of unity, vision and generosity for building a future grounded in faith ad learning.

Flona Soans, chair of training & placements compered the programme. Rector, Fr Melwyin Joseph Pinto, SJ rendered the prayer service along with the vice chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and other priests. Jacintha & group invoked God's blessings. Fr Valerian D’Souza, blessed the main foundation stone. Dr Melwyn D’Cunha proposed the vote of thanks.

The day marked not only the physical laying of the foundation but also the spiritual laying of a strong and enduring legacy for generations to come.
