Mangalore: Weightlifters from State Win 18 Medals at Asian Championship in Japan

Mangalore, Dec 9: Weightlifters from Karnataka state put up tremendous performances at the Asian Power Lifting Championship that was held at Kobe city in Japan from December 5 to 9. The team won an impressive 18 medals at the event.


Vinuta and Neha

Among the 18 medals, Prasad Shetty, who competed in sub-junior category, won one gold and two bronzes. Neha H succeeded in annexing two brozes in the sub-junior category. M Vinutha got four silver medals in senior category.

Both Vinutha and Neha are students of SDM College Ujire.

Vinay Kanchan won three silvers and one bronze in Master I category. Anand N succeeded in securing a silver medal in senior category. M Maheshwariah also put up a stupendous performance by annexing three gold and one silver medal.

Sathish Kumar Kudroli was the coach of the Indian team in the event.
