Sharjah, Nov 7: The excitement is building as Konkan Yuva announces the much-anticipated return of its traditional family sports fest, Khel Mhel 2024 (Season 3), titled “Revecha Uskyar Mathiyecho Khel,” scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Wonderers Sports Club, Sharjah, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. This vibrant sports extravaganza promises a day packed with fun, excitement, and community spirit, exclusively for the Konkani Catholic community in the UAE.
About Konkan Yuva: Founded in February 2005, Konkan Yuva has been committed to providing a "home away from home" for Konkani youth in the UAE. Under the guidance of spiritual leaders at St Mary's Church, Dubai, the organization has hosted numerous events that foster unity and celebration within the community.
Khel Mhel 2024: A Day of Fun and Unity Under the theme “Revecha Uskyar Mathiyecho Khel,” Khel Mhel 2024 will feature childhood games that evoke nostalgia while bringing the Konkani community together. Attendees can look forward to a day filled with entertainment, including a brass band, music, food stalls, and engaging games.
With free entry and an expected turnout of over 2,000 attendees, Khel Mhel 2024 is poised to be a significant event in the Konkani community calendar.
Inauguration: The event will commence at 8 am with an inaugural ceremony featuring the Chief Guest, escorted by a brass band. Thirty-two teams will participate in a grand march past under the theme “Amso Ganv – Amchi Samkriti” (Our Land, Our Culture), showcasing unity and cultural heritage.
Sports Events: Participants can enjoy traditional games such as Tug of War, Moonwalk, Relay Races, Dumbe Challenge, Human Caterpillar, Build the Pyramid, Soppu Ata (Dog & the Bone), and Stick Walk Relay. The event will see 32 teams and over 480 players aged 18 and above competing for the championship, each team comprising seven men and seven women.

Mini Khel Mhel 2024
The event will also feature a “Mini Khel Mhel 2024” for participants under 18, with three age categories (below 8, 9-13, 14-17). Over 200 children are registered to participate in age-specific games.
Entertainment and Food Fiesta
Hosts Vernon D'Souza, Uttam Menezes, Roshan D'Silva, along with DJs Wilson and Norman, will keep the atmosphere lively. Food stalls by Udupi Restaurant, Coastal Butlers, and other vendors will offer traditional Mangalorean cuisine, chats, momos, and refreshing drinks.

Event schedule:
- 7:30 am: Brass band inauguration.
- 8:00 am: Inaugural ceremony and march past.
- 8:45 am to 4:30 pm: Sports competitions.
- 10:00 am to 2:00 pm: Interactive games.
- 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Mini Khel Mhel for kids.
- 4:15 pm: Magic show for kids.
- 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm: Cultural program “Ya Ya Mayaya” and live band concert.
