Mangalore, Dec 9:
Gone are the days when neighbours were ready to help each other any time, for anything. The modern 'civilized' society, especially in cities is highly individualistic, where people stay aloof in their own little shells, so much so that even matters that can be resolved easily get blown into full-fledged confrontations.

Once such quarrel that erupted between residents of two flats at 'Lotus Park' apartments located on Old Pumpwell road reached the doors of Kadri police station, on Friday December 9 afternoon.

In a complaint filed by Lilly Pinto, wife of John Pinto, she stated that one of the residents in the same apartments, identified as Willina D'Souza, has banned the entry of auto rickshaws and other vehicles inside the compound. It may not sound something that would need police intervention, except that John cannot walk as he has lost both legs to diabetes, and needs autos to stop at the doorstep of the apartment. Both his legs had to be amputated when his diabetes reached an extreme level. He is also a cardiac patient.

The complaint has also been filed against the president of the apartments Hema Adyantaya, and treasurer Melwin Patrao.

Lilly, John and their 18-year-old son have been staying in the apartment for the last 11 months. The owner of the apartments is said to be staying out of station, and Willina D'Souza has been allegedly demanding maintenance charges of the apartment from the Pinto couple. John and Lilly have so far refused to pay the charges, claiming that they have been depositing the amount in the society’s bank account. They say that as Willina has no documents to prove herself as the authorised person to collect payments, they have refused to hand over their share to her.

"She does not have any document to prove that she is authorized to collect maintenance charges," Lilly told media persons, adding that they have been depositing the money in Canara Bank.

While Willina refused to appear before the media, Lilly said that Willina has locked the apartment gate so that auto rickshaws cannot reach the doorstep.

When S Thilakraj of Pandeshwar police station arrived, on behalf of Kadri police as the latter were busy with another case, he told them that if they fail to reach a compromise on the matter by themselve, police action will be initiated depending on the decision taken by Kadri police.

Finally, after police gave orders, Willina agreed to open the gate and allowed John to alight at the doorstep.

I feel very sad looking at John's status. Wilma being a catholic, no humanity. If john could walk , Wilma wound not have done this. Really pathetic. Public should help John and family. Wilma... you are a catholic and you know what Bible says.... Open and read. Try to love and help your neighbour. Before celebrating Christmas ... go for confession and reconcile.. Go and say sorry to John and family. otherwise God will not forgive for the wrong what you are doing. I pray to God , have mercy on John and family and grant their heart desires and Give John Good health always...!!

So, what is the cause of so much 'upset' to Dinesh Poojary ? The fact that his claim that 'Police are so good' is not accepted ?

Well, There is a reason for not accepting your claim because it is as untrue as my claim of 'conversions do not take place' is not acceptable to you. You do not have one proof for the forceful conversions but ask us to go to the police station and find out - I have a proof right here - that you still are a POOJARI, not a D'Sousa/Pinto/Fernandes ! Until you continue to write your name POOJARI, conversions don't take place.

Now, listen to why the police are not as saintly as you say - under their very nose one man committed more than twenty murders and the community came on roads blaming 'Love Jihad'. As soon as Mohan Kumar was arrested, Love Jihad vanished ! Where was the police until this village man committed so many murders ?

Second - The very police hit women praying with batons on whose order ? The Saffron Gang !

Third - The very saffron gang tried to malign an orphanage over converting school children from Bidar - but all documents were available with the orphanage authorities - What punish punishment did the gang get ?

Four - a social worker's NGO was attacked by the very saffron gang and accused to be carrying out forceful religious compulsion on inmates - what punishment did the gang get ?

So, Dinesh pujari, stop your Pungi and search for a Hindu converted to Christianity and then continue your diarrhea here.

    Dear friends,
Let us stop fighting for small things/causes. No one is permanent here. Let us live and let other live. If one can help others, please do not trouble others. Others sorrow will never bring happiness to us. Let us make us of the chance to live in this beautiful world and let us live like human beings. If possible show gratitude and pity towards the less fortynate. No person in this world is happy for not having anything but for others/neighbours and knows persons or relatives having something more than what he has.

Let us all keep in mind that everyone of us are given a chance to live in this world by the almighty and for him all are his creations/children.

Let us live nad let others live peacefully.

    With regards,
    Nagesh

Mr godfrey pinto well said! We Catholics/ Christians have a high degree of morality to live up to. This has been dissolved by our various institutions that stress more on rituals than the teachings of Christ. If we are true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ we would not have indulged in such petty fights. I hope that lady Willina DSouza has learnt her lesson and stops troubling the Pinto couple..May God bless them both.

Unfortunately these people are very less in the society..

People like Willina are the real villains of this society. Such people involve in anti social activities and they are self centered. We always stand against those people.

THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE BEEN SORTED OUT THRU HEAD OF THE CHURCH INSTEAD OF GOING TO POLICE SINCE BOTH THE PARTIES ARE CHRISTIANS. THAT MEANS NO COMMUNITY IS IN EXCEPTION TO HAVE DIFFERENCE OF OPENION. IT SEEMS AT THIS STAGE ATLEAST THEY WERE ABLE TO SORT OUT THE MATTER NOT CONNECTING OTHERS TO THE ISSUE AND TAKING IT TO STREETS OR COURTS.

Basic contents of this scenario is lack of understanding and forgiveness. We Christians know to preach but don't know to follow christian values. In a day several times we say prayers which our Lord taught us i.e. Our father...
Are we forgiving others? Everyone wants to display their leadership and show their talent of displaying sadistic behavior. Those people who harass Mr. John are thinking may be they are going to live for ever. People who harass him please try to help them once and see the contentment you get if you are not with a disease called 'sadistic'.

I feel Catholics are much answerable to God in this life and next (if we make it)for all the problems they create in society in the name of God. Our institutions are mainly dominated by money making priests and nuns, values are mostly corrupt, our children have nothing to offer us at our later life, they are gone case in every way. Shame on us, We back bite, compromise and envy others so much. Why i write this because if we do not take responsibility who will ? lets change our ways for the better ones and learn to love and forgive just the way Jesus did! Get serious now..just have one good look at our children! Do you think they will take care of us and our society ? have we given them moral values and love...NO..we have given them sick religion and lots of pride, money and wordy things.Sorry if anyone is hurt by my comments, but truths bites. Folks do not live life like you have eternity to live on earth, its just for few days, think on after life.Love one another

are we so much selfish or we made ourself for the matter of prestige???

Ms. Willina please watch the japan tsumani video :) we humans make boundaries but when nature does its act it washes away everything i mean everything when you come back and see you wont even find a small stone of your own house rememember.

You must have forgotten all those catacism class teachings given regarding love and bortherhood.

Some crooks have been complaining that police are not accepting their complaints in Mangalore. See how good are our police, they came to help our John. God bless our police and John. May god bless good health for John...

If people are good, police (or any one) will be good for people.

If a thief after looting a house goes and gives complaint against house owner, will police accept the complaints from thief? Instead police will beat thief and arrest him..

It is now proven, who is good and who is bad...

    "Angai huNNIge Kannadi Yake"?

Our police had always been good irrespective of cast, community and the religion as I used to say before...

Few pseudos will never understand this and can never be changed...

    Hi,
Good that the issue has been resolved, this as besides a handicapped person is involved or no, a vehicle is always allowed to enter any premises, unload the goods or the passengers and leave the premises.
For e.g.: Imagine a family is shifting into the building and the vehicle is to be parked outside the compound and the goods to be shifted physically.
The look at the involved building seems different but then in case if its a huge compound it just does not make sense at all.
Let Peace and Harmony prevail, besides this issue and all at this building are able to live peacefully specially that Christmas is round the corner.
    Kind Regards
