Richard Feynman was not only a Nobel laureate in physics but also master of complex topics. His key learning insight: complexity and jargon often mask a lack of understanding," said Dr Anandh K, IAS, CEO, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, after inaugurating the Deepavali celebration at the Time Square of Expert PU College Valachil.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest Dr Anandh K conveyed Deepavali greetings to all, extolled the Expert institutions for its splendiferousness and also for imparting disciplined education.
The entire campus was beautifully illuminated with colourful hanging lanterns and flickering deepas (earthen lamps) for the unique Expert Deepavali which created an atmosphere filled with divinity. The students and the teachers garbed their ethnic attire which added festive spirit to the celebration.
The festivity began with worship of Goddess Lakshmi and traditional rituals.
Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert group of institutions, honoured the chief guest with a memento and a citation. Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak; vice chairperson welcomed the guest with a bouquet.
‘Kunithabajane’ and other traditional dance performances by the students and the staff members mesmerized the audience. Prizes were distributed to the winners of Goodu Deepa making, Deepa decoration, dance competitions and vogue competition.
The programme culminated with the releasing of numerous sky lanterns which set the night sky ablaze.
Ankush N Nayak, director, information technology, Expert PU College, Valachil, architect, Deepika A Nayak, Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Subramanya Udupa, vice principal, invitees and the staff members were present on the occasion.
Rakshith M R, programme director, proposed a vote of thanks. The students Siri Lakshmi E, Amrutha Talwar, Varnika R Gowda and Kshithi C A welcomed the gathering and compered the programme.
