Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Nov 10: A Maruti 800 car caught fire near the petrol pump at Narayana Guru Circle, Ladyhill, on Sunday, November 10 afternoon, causing panic in the area.

The vehicle, arriving from Bajpe to refuel at the Lady Hill petrol pump, caught fire as soon as it stopped near the pump.

The flames quickly surrounded the petrol pump, prompting the staff to respond by using buckets of water in an attempt to extinguish the fire. Despite the intensifying blaze, reports confirmed that there were no casualties.

Staff members noted that if the fire had spread to the underground petrol tank, it could have led to a major disaster.
