Bantwal, Nov 11: During the Prashna Chintana ritual held at Anekallu Padpu Sri Jaladurgaparameshwari Kshethra using the Naadi method, it was revealed that a Shivalinga was present in the waters flowing in front of the temple. On Saturday evening, the search for the Shivalinga was conducted.
A decade ago, remnants of a temple were discovered at Padpu Thota, and during a Prashna Chintana ritual, it was indicated that a Shivalinga existed alongside the deity Jaladurga. It is believed that Jaladurga performed penance for Lord Shiva while standing in the water. With the discovery of the Shivalinga, known as Shiva Yogeshwara, it is seen as the materialization of Goddess Jaladurga's penance. A Shivalaya (temple) is expected to be built where devotees can offer prayers to Lord Shiva under the guidance of a priest.
The Nadi Shodhana ritual was performed by Swami Sidda Guruji of Karoor Panchamadevi Kalipalyam Sri Nandishwarar Jnanapeetam.
The event was attended by Shyam Bhat, honorary secretary of Anekallu Sri Jaladurgaparameshwari Trust; Nandini Krishnakumar, executive secretary of Jnanapeetam; trustees Shivaraman and Venkat; A P Lalita from Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram; Suresh, convener of Sri Jaladurga Kshethra; Pushparaj from RSS; and Ramana Shetty Palige from Nelajala Horata Samiti.
