Udupi, Nov 11 : The confraternity Sunday was observed ahead of the annual feast at Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi on Sunday November 10.
Fr Roy Lobo, parish priest Basrur was the chief celebrant for the Eucharistic celebrations. A large number of faithful participated in the holy Mass and Eucharistic procession.
In his homily Fr Roy Lobo said, "If we have come together today at this place the Eucharist is the only reason for this togetherness. The Eucharist calls us to live together. The Synod and the Pope calls for a moving church with communion. To be in companionship we need to learn to forgive others. Selflessness is another key concept helping for companionship.
"Companionship will be effective when we try to reduce the dependence on the media. Media is necessary but regulated use of the media will ensure a good outcome. A generous heart brings us together. Generosity doesn't mean just by money; it also includes service in the community and doing good to others. Jesus Christ prays for our togetherness and oneness," he said.
The Eucharist was taken on a procession on the streets of Udupi on the occasion.
Fr Charles Menezes, parish priest Fr Leo Praveen D’Souza, assistant parish priest were present on the occasion.
The annual feast will be celebrated on November 12 and 13 with grandeur.
