Kundapur, Nov 11: Talluru gram panchayat, selected for the 2023-24 Gandhi Gram Award, was honored with the special Karanth Award at the Shivaram Karanth Birthplace Award ceremony, held at the Karanth Theme Park in Kota, led by the Kotatattu gram panchayat.

The award was presented by C H Vijayshankar, Governor of Meghalaya.

Present at the event were Talluru Gram Panchayat president Girish S Naik, vice president Chandramati, PDO Nagarathna G, the secretary, and other panchayat members and staff.

Each year, the government reviews the governance of gram panchayats and awards the Gandhi Gram Award to those that demonstrate exemplary performance.

Talluru gram panchayat president Girish stated that the panchayat has been committed to serving the people and maintaining transparency in its administration. He expressed that the government’s recognition of their work through the prestigious Gandhi Gram Award has increased their responsibility and motivated them to achieve more.
