Bangalore: CM will File Papers on Dec 12, No Pressure from Yeddy: Eshwarappa

Bangalore, Dec 10: Rubbishing media speculation suggesting that former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa was exerting pressure tactics to regain the post by preventing his successor D V Sadananda Gowda from contesting in the December 22 election to the Karnataka Legislative Council, State BJP President K S Eshwarappa on Saturday claimed that Sadananda Gowda will file his nomination papers on December 12, Monday.

The Chief Minister was keen on filing his nomination papers on Saturday itself but was prevailed upon not to do so in view of the lunar eclipse, considered inauspicious, Eshwarappa said pointing out that the ruling party was completely united and would vote in favour of Sadananda Gowda.

The Chief Minister will emerge victorious in the December 22 election to the Upper House to fulfill the requirement of becoming a member of either house of the State legislature within six months of being sworn in on August 4, he said asserting that there was no truth the baseless claims that Yeddyurappa was trying to force Sadananda Gowda not to contest.

''The present BJP government headed by Sadananda Gowda will complete the remaining one and half years of the term of the present assembly,” he said declaring that ''nobody can dismantle or destabilise the Government.”

Eshwarappa dismissed the reported claims of the former minister B Sriramulu, who was as an independent after resigning from the BJP, that he had the support of 22 ruling party MLAs and offered to retire from politics if Sriramulu can actually demonstrate his support of 22 BJP MLAs.

The State BJP President said Yeddyurappa was sure to come out of the charges against him and made it clear that the party’s national leadership had declared that he would be reinstated soon after being cleared of the charges.

With Sriramulu, who hails from the backward Balija community and is seeking emerge as the champion of Backwards and Dalits along with farmers, Eshwarappa said the BJP was not worried about any possible challenges from the former minister.

He, however, announced the formation of a Backward Classes Forum and appointed city’s Lok Sabha member P C Mohan, who also belongs to the Balija community, as its President and said the latter would assume charge on December 29.

I agree with the comments of Mr. T.K. HAMZA, Kushalnagar.I have seen many State presidents of different parties in Karnataka but the way Eshwarappa conducts himself is far below expected from such post.

Normally BJP leaders believe in loud mouth to make their point of view, but this man believes in foul mouth. Indian culture is based on mutual respect and most of us follow this. We may be having difference of opinion with people but still we have to do so respectfully as per our culture.

BJP gives an impression that they are protectors of Indian culture but believes in low grade comments against their opponents. This can also be seen in the comments by some supporters of BJP who enjoy such low grade comments.

Louis, Kuwait you are thinking about BJP in Karnataka, but do you know what's the fate of your secular kangress in karnataka now?? Regarding DVS victory you can comment on that only when the result comes out. So wait for the results after the election.

Sriramulu will form a new party and invite like-minded leaders from BJP and Janata Dal to his party. It will become the second biggest party of Karnataka and also a threat to Congress if they don't sort out their differences and promote young leaders.

All is not well in the BJP party of Karnataka unit.Given the fragile situation and coupled with SRIRAMULU's factor,I think BJP will disintegrate under it's own weight.Under the circumstances anybody can speculate what would be the next development in BJP.Wounded tiger Yeddy, watching the situation very carefully to strike or ambush...
