Bantwal, Nov 12: Chaos erupted at the office of the Vittal revenue inspector when a politician and his supporters created a ruckus, resulting in a broken glass table. As the situation escalated, the police arrived promptly and managed to bring the crowd under control.
Sheikh Shibaan, a resident of Veerakhamba, recently constructed a new house on government land and applied under Section 94C to regularize the property. The revenue inspector conducted a spot inspection and noted in the report that the house was situated near the forest department office, requiring clearance from the forest department. When the necessary consent was not granted, a politician, accompanied by his supporters, arrived at the revenue inspector’s office in Vittal. He banged his fist on the glass table, causing it to shatter, and created a commotion.
Vittal police, upon receiving information, quickly arrived at the scene, dispersed the crowd, and brought the situation under control.
