Mangaluru, Nov 12: The fifth season of the Kottari Premier League (KPL) 2024, organized by the Kottari Youth Forum, concluded successfully after two days of thrilling cricket action at Urwa Grounds in Mangaluru.

A total of seven teams participated in the league, with each team playing six matches in the league stage. The competition then progressed through the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and culminated in an exciting final. In the semi-finals, four teams advanced, setting the stage for a high-stakes final between Kottari Tatvamasi and Kottari Mighty Bulls.

After winning the toss, Kottari Mighty Bulls opted to field first. Tatvamasi set a modest target of 27 runs in four overs. Chasing the target, Mighty Bulls clinched a nail-biting victory with just one ball to spare in the final over. Kishore Kottari, who hit the winning boundary in the last over, was awarded the Player of the Match for his decisive performance. Sukesh Kottari, who showcased exceptional batting throughout the tournament, was honored as the Best Batsman.

Nishant received the Best Bowler award, while Nikit Kannur was recognized as the Player of the Series for his all-round performance.

The final, held under floodlights, was a thrilling spectacle as Kottari Mighty Bulls emerged victorious, claiming the KPL 2024 championship title.
