New Delhi, Dec 11 (IANS): Team Anna member Kiran Bedi Sunday asked parliament to reject the recommendations of the standing committee on the Lokpal bill and urged them to listen to the voice of the people.
"I hope the coming parliament of intellectuals will reject the recommendations of the standing committee and will hear the voice of people," Bedi said before Anna Hazare began his daylong token fast at Jantar Mantar.
Bedi said Hazare had introduced a "new democracy" in which people directly questioned their representative.
"They will see a new face of a new democracy. The person who has voted is asking what are you doing for me? This is the face of new democracy which Anna has taught us," the former top cop said from the dais.
"Lokpal has been made inquiry-pal...it has not been given any powers. They took inquiry out of the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and made it weak and Lokpal a non-starter," she alleged.
