Kundapur, Nov 13: A tipper truck driver's attempt to overtake at high speed led to a major accident on the Hunsemakki-Haladi main road near the New Parijata Hotel in the Hombadi Mandadi gram panchayat limits. The incident occurred on November 12, resulting in a chain collision involving an Eicher truck, a car, and a pickup vehicle.

The tipper truck, speeding towards Thekkatte from Hunsemakki, first rammed into an oncoming Eicher truck. It then collided with a Santro Xing car traveling ahead, dragging it along before crashing into a Maruti Suzuki Super Carry pickup that was heading from Koteshwara towards Bidkalkatte. The collision left the car and the pickup severely damaged, with the latter overturning into a roadside drain. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident.

Footage from a CCTV camera installed at a nearby hotel captured the high-speed impact of the tipper truck, showing the vehicle crashing into the Eicher truck and dragging the Santro car, illustrating the severity of the accident.

The collision caused a temporary traffic jam on the busy road. Traffic police arrived at the scene and managed to restore smooth vehicle movement. Kota police also reached the site and conducted an investigation into the incident.

Accidents happen, people lose life or limb, the drivers runs away, comes back with a anticipatory bail, or gets arrested and comes out on bail, attends the sessions in the court, and is out on bail to do the same thing again. The cops, the RTO and the politicians all play dead. The only family that suffers are the victims.

Most of the Tipper and JCB vehicles are driven by young boys who are coming from north Karnataka areas. Better to check everyone drivers licence. They go to college in day time and earn money in night time for fees and enjoyment. Our traffic Police must check daily night time and early morning, to catch if they don't have proper licence. Otherwise traffic Police is accountable for all accidents.
