Well, if the price difference is so huge, those which were not caught will be sold/served at a higher profit margin. If I heard it right, that is the business model of survival for bar owners in Karnataka.

Why government of Karnataka is not willing to bring down the prices of liquor. If not in par with Goa, at least bring down the prices to match to Goan prices. This crime, the so called illegal liquor, the State government also is party of it.

The state Govt is making simple ordinary people into criminals by overcharging exorbitantly unrealistic prices on such mundane stuff such as liquor mainly in the form of Excise/ duty & other taxes. The main Q here is, of another state (Gov) can supply the same at utmost realistic rates than Karnataka dies it mean that the Govt of Goa not performing is state finances well? In fact the state excels in many other aspects as well. All civic facilities are good and many are better than the St of Kar. Even the street lights stand out glaringly compared to the useless cheap products passed in cheap tenders w/o respect to the quality. The State of Goa doesn't even have the copious income flow that comes from the multitudes of temples that abound in the state. Therefore there is no valid reason to make liquor prices so expensive and make a common man into a criminal. It would help the state more if it did not involve itself in free schemes like free electricity, bus service etc...
