Bantwal, Nov 14: A tragic incident occurred at Bolangady in Panemangalore, where a worker accidentally slipped and fell from an areca nut tree while harvesting areca nuts.

The deceased worker has been identified as John Lobo, a resident of Majal House in Bolangady.

On November 13, while John Lobo was harvesting areca nuts in the plantation of Padmanabha Prabhu in Bolangady, he fell from the tree. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru, where doctors declared him dead upon examination.

A case has been registered at Bantwal Town Police Station based on a complaint filed by his wife, Swapna V M.
