Mangaluru: Illegal sand mining – Five boats, motor confiscated

Mangaluru, Nov 17: Mining and revenue department officials raided an illegal sand mining operation at the Gurupura Phalguni River on Saturday.

The sleuths confiscated five boats, a motor, and a gas cylinder.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Mangaluru assistant commissioner Harshavardhan.

The team included tahsildar Prashant Patil, mining department geo-scientist Girisha, and others.
