Udupi, Nov 23: The muhurat ceremony of ‘Production Number 1 – Part 1’, a Tulu movie, was held on Thursday morning at the Padubidri Mahalingeshwara Ganapati Temple.
The event began with prayers at the temple, followed by a stage programme inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said, “Tulu language, culture, and food habits are admired worldwide. Tulu drama, cinema, and artistes are working tirelessly to promote the Tulu language. Our prayers at Padubidri Mahaganapati shrine will bear fruit. I hope this movie becomes a superhit. I am delighted to be part of this programme.”
Senior stage artiste Vijaya Kumar Kodialbail noted, “This is the best time for Tulu cinema, with nine movies being shot in Mangaluru. The audience always supports good films, and Tuluvas should encourage such efforts. Best wishes to the movie team.”
Comedian Naveen D Padil added, “May this movie achieve grand success and earn recognition for Tulunadu.”
Actor and producer Shodhan Shetty shared, “I planned to produce this movie in 2019, but it was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Now the time has come. With your support, we aim to produce this film successfully. Once Part 1 is completed, we will announce the title.”
The ceremony was attended by temple trustee Bhavani Shankar Hegde, Umesh Shetty, actor Shodhan Shetty, journalist Bala Jagannatha Shetty, Dr Prateeksha, Dr Nikil Shetty, Sanjay Shetty Gonibeedu, Dr Y N Shetty, Mithun, Naveen Chandra Shetty, Jagannatha Shetty Kulai, Vittal Shetty, and Shantharam Shetty.
Entrepreneur Pallavi Santhosh Shetty performed the ceremonial camera switch-on, while Shahil Rai compered the event.
The movie, produced by Dhanraj Shetty and Umesh Shetty under the banner Shubha Shetty Productions, is directed by Sharath Poojary Baggathota. The cinematography is by Sandeep Udupi, editing by Raviraj Ganiga, and music by Prasad K. Shetty.
The cast includes popular Tulu artistes Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Prasanna Shetty Bailoor, Ramesh Shetty, Sooraj Sanil, Shobha Priya Nair, and Sandeep Poojary. The film will be shot in and around Kateel and Padubidri.
