With Inputs from William Mendonca

Mulky, Dec 14:
In a tragic road mishap, 22-year-old Rithesh D'Souza lost his life when the bike he was riding was hit by an auto rickshaw and then a lorry.

The accident occured near Haleangady on NH 66 on Wednesday December 14 evening. It is said that an auto rickshaw rammed into Rithesh's bike, which made him lose control and he fell on to the road. A passing lorry hit him, killing him instantly, while the auto rickshaw sped away, sources said.

Aaron Mendonca who was riding pillion with him suffered injuries but is out of danger.

Rithesh, son of Francis Xavier of St Lawrence Ward of Kenha Mudarangady, and Aaron, son of Louis Mendonca, had been to Shirva to attend a church feast and had gone to Mangalore from there. They were heading back to Mudrangady from Mangalore when the accident took place.

Rithesh, who was a DJ, had done his ITI course in automobiles from Don Bosco Academy, Trasi, and had also worked for Volvo in Bangalore. Aaron is a student of St Mary's College, Shirva.

Mulky police have registered a case in this regard.

It is very sad that Ritesh has left us to him heavenly abode. It is rather cruel way to leave us and go. But it is God's plan, we cannot change it. He has taken his dues. Let us thank Him for giving Ritesh to us. May the Lord grant you strength and courage to bear this loss. May his soul rest in peace.

Everything is in God's hands. He is the one to decide life and death. May his soul rest in peace. Roads also contribute a lot to accidents. Another innocent and young life with a bright future is lost due to Govt. apathy of not improving quality of roads and making it one way. This stretch from Kundapura to Mangluru is literally a death trap and that passengers travelling on this stretch should always say a special prayer to their favorite deity to grant them protection till they reach their destination. Ritesh Rest in Eternal Peace!!

we never drive to kill ourselves, but while we are on driving seat others can kill us for which, we should be careful.Everything may be repaired and gained back but not the PRECIOUS LIFE.The worst thing is we have ZERO PETIENCE ON ROAD WHILE DRIVINR, and hence any person who break the traffic rule will either kill himself or the other innocent who is on the road.

Due to heavy vehciles trafic & roads without proper lights this is unsafe to ride the two wheelers in our roads specially at evening where the heavy vehicles lights directly hit the eyes of two wheelers. Twice bike riders hit me in foot path and once I was seeriously injured. Our life is always in more danger unless our roads and trafic system chage. Every motor bike or bicycle, and car driver must understand that the roads are extremely dangerous because truck, lorry or bus drivers drive their vehicle recklessly and the roads are not built for quick escape. Our youngsters must understand road hazards and the parents must educate their youngsters the requirements for road safety. Mangalore roads are unsafe. We seen families are wiped out even using big vehicles such as Toyota minivans. Let our youngsters learn to use the roads with safety. The current loss is beyond comprehension. It is difficult even to think for non relatives, how the parents can cope with such loss? Those parents who read about this tragedy, at least instruct their children Health and Safety requirements.

THIS IS A VERY SAD CASE.

YOUNG PEOPLE RIDING BYKES ESPECIALLY NEVER THINK THAT OTHERS CAN HARM THEM. THEY NEVER EVEN THINK THAT SUCH TRAGEDIES CAN OCCUR

SAD FOR THIS LAD, I AM VERY SORRY FOR HIS PARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS

RICKSHAW RIDERS WANT TO MAKE MORE MONEY WITHIN SHORT TIME SO THEY RIDE RECKLESSLY LIKE THE PRIVATE CITY BUS DRIVERS

LORRY'S HAVE NOT CONTROL IN A SUDDEN SITUATION AS THEY CARRY LOADS THEY CANNOT BREAK INSTANTLY

WHY SHOULD THE YOUNG GO ON RIDING SO LONG A DISTANCE? THEY COULD BE TIERD, THEY COULD HAVE A BLURRED VISION AT NIGHT. THIS IS VERY SAD.

I FEEL YOUNG PEOPLE SHOULD NEVER WASTE THEIR PRECIOUS LIFE FOR A MOMENTARY SHOWY BYKE RIDING, ESPECIALLY IN DK WHERE THE ROADS ARE NOT ROADS BUT FILEDS FOR PADDY PLANTATION.

    REST IN PEACE
