Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Dec 15: A crowd rained stones at the police station here on Wednesday night, injuring three policemen in the bargain. Reportedly, the crowd was angry at the perceived inaction of the policemen in allowing the occupants of a car to go scot free. This car, in which two men and two women belonging different religions had been travelling together, had been intercepted by local people at Jalsoor near here on Wednesday evening, before handing them over to the policemen.

A lady police constable was among those injured. Navin, Ramesh, and Teja Kumari were injured due to stoning. A surcharged atmosphere prevailed in the area for some time, on account of which, the policemen had to resort to caning of the crowd to disperse them.

Two ladies from Jharkhand were travelling with Iqbal from Uppala and Abdul Hamid. Reportedly, Iqbal, who was in jail relating to a crime, got to know Shobharani and Prabharani from Jharkhand, who were in the same jail. It is said that Iqbal had promised to secure some job for the ladies after his release from the jail. The policemen had gathered information that the four were travelling together to Mysore in this connection.

The locals, who suspected foul play, wanted the policemen to take action against the four occupants of the car. Thinking that the police personnel had let off the offenders without looking into their backgrounds or acts seriously, a crowd of local people had unleashed their anger against the policemen later.

Day by day it is becomming more and more clear that mangalore Police and the District Administration is at the mercy of BD,VHP,RSS.BJP....and the members of these associations are dictating terms to the District Administration and Police. It is shame to the District Administration and Police. When BJP came to power,The District Administration and Police failed to place these associations in their place and now they have grown and the District Administration and Police are pupets in their hands.....They are good to file false cases against minorities.

I think the term locals us used here only for ' BD' 'VHP' or 'RSS' activists who have become more powerful than the police after Sullia candidate DVS become CM. They are the one to decide whom to arrest and who let free. The police cannot arrest the people who hurled stones at them because they are scared of the consequences thereafter. The same police arrested by pulling them out from vamanjoor and kulshekar church. What a shame on the police force.
