6 KAR AIR SQN NCC, Mangaluru organises NCC Raising Day 2024 at St Aloysius

Mangaluru, Nov 25: The NCC Raising Day is celebrated every year on November 24 with great enthusiasm and pride, commemorating the establishment of the National Cadet Corps under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. This event highlights the significance of the NCC in grooming disciplined and patriotic citizens, instilling values of leadership, unity, and nation-building.

The 6 KAR AIR SQN NCC, Mangaluru organised NCC Raising Day at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) on November 24. The programme commenced with a warm welcome and introduction by LFC Vijetha Shetty, who emphasized the importance of the day and reflected on the NCC's contributions to the nation's development.

A video showcasing the squadron's activities throughout the year was presented, illustrating the cadets' all-round development through various events and initiatives.

A cyclothon was held as part of the celebrations and was flagged off by the commanding officer, wing commander Praveen Bishnoi. This activity encouraged physical fitness and camaraderie among the cadets. Wing commander Bishnoi addressed the gathering, inspiring cadets with his reflections on the significance of NCC Day.

A painting competition was organized for JD and JW cadets, showcasing their creativity and patriotism. The winners: Cdt Chaya, Cdt Saanvi, Cdt Dhanush, and Cdt Rahul of St Aloysius Highschool Mangaluru were felicitated by the commanding officer during the prize distribution ceremony.

An innovative suggestion box system was introduced to encourage cadets to share ideas and feedback for improving training and operations. Wing commander Bishnoi elaborated on the initiative and handed over the suggestion boxes to flying officer Dr Alwyn Misquith the ANO of Flight A - St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and to flying officer Dr Hithakshi ANO of Flight C St Agnes College (Autonomous) Mangaluru.

The commanding officer of 6 KAR AIR SQN NCC MANGALORE, wing commander Praveen Bishnoi distributed sapling to the JD and JW cadets and asked them to look after the plant as it grows. The commanding officer also distributed NCC T Shirts to the SD and SW cadets.

The event concluded with a reminder of the values instilled by the NCC - discipline, unity, and service to the nation.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended to the commanding officer, PI staff, ANOs, cadets, and all contributors to the event's success. The celebration ended on a high note with the NCC song.
