Mangaluru: St Agnes School CBSE shines in karate, chess competitions

Mangaluru, Nov 28: The Budokan Karate Sports Association Karnataka organized the 4th National Level Open Karate Championship 2024 on November 16 and 17, at Madhvangana, Shree Krishna Matha, Udupi.

Talented students from St Agnes School CBSE participated and brought home remarkable accolades, showcasing their dedication and skill.

The students showed exceptional performance in individual Kata and Kumite categories by claiming various ranks

Individual Kata winners

1st place: Moulya S Bhandary (grade III-D), Fathima Zoha (grade VII-A), Ridima Ranjith (grade VII-A), Tanvi Kishore (grade VII-B), Alisha Siyona Menezes (grade VI-C)
2nd place: Rishika J Bangera (grade VID), Tanvi (grade VII-C), Sanvi M Kulal (grade VIII-C), Ahana Adiga (grade VIII-C), Pranavi (grade III-C),
3rd place: Siyona Rose (grade VIII-C), Vrishti (grade VI-D), Chaithanya (grade VI-A), Dhanvi V K (grade VII-C), Vaishnavi (grade IX-A), Yashasvi M Naik (grade IX-C), Rishika Raj (grade IXC)

Individual Kumite winners

1st place: Ridima Ranjith (grade VII-A), Rishika Raj (grade IXC)
2nd place: Braina Jane (grade VID), Sanvi M Kulal (grade VIII-C), Tanvi Kishore (grade VII-B), Vaishnavi (grade IX-A)
3rd place: Tanvi (grade VII-C), Pranavi P Shetty (grade III-C), Moulya S Bhandary (grade III-D), Fathima Zoha (grade VII-A), Ahana Adiga (grade VIII-C)

In the realm of chess, Adithi Suresh Prabhu (grade X) earned 3rd place in the U-16 girls category at the inaugural BSC Trophy Inter-District Rapid Chess tournament, organized by the Brahmavar Sports Club on October 20th. She also secured 2nd place in the U-16 category at the 24th Sri Narayana Guru Trophy Rapid Chess Tournament, held at Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, on November 10.

St Agnes School CBSE extended its heartfelt congratulations to all the winners for their exceptional performances in both Karate and Chess, bringing great pride to the school. The principal, staff, and students wished them continued success in their future endeavours.
