Karkala: Degree student out for swim at Durga falls drowns

Karkala, Nov 28: A tragic incident unfolded at Durga Falls in Durga village on Thursday, November 28 afternoon, where a college student drowned while swimming.

The deceased has been identified as Joel D'Souza (19), a B Com student from Kalyanpura College in Udupi.

Joel, along with six friends, had visited Durga Falls when he reportedly lost his balance while playing in the water and drowned.

Karkala rural police have visited the spot and are conducting an investigation.
