Kasargod: Gold jewellery stolen from house, accused arrested

Kasargod, Nov 28: The police of Vidyanagar station have arrested an accused in connection with a case of burglary in which eight pawns of gold jewellery and Rs 60,000 in cash were stolen from a house.

The arrested person has been identified as Robert Rodrigues (53) from Madhuru Arantod. The theft occurred when the family members were away at work. The accused used a key kept outside the house to unlock the door and gained entry to commit the crime.

The theft took place at the house of Felix D'Souza from Arantod. The crime had occurred months ago, but it was only recently that the family became aware of the incident. Upon checking the wardrobe, they found that gold jewellery and cash had been stolen.

Based on suspicion, Robert was taken into custody for questioning, during which he confessed to the crime. His recent suspicious activities had raised concerns, leading to his detention and subsequent confession regarding the theft.
