DG-IGP Shankar Bidari Visits Udupi, Rewards Deserving Policemen

Udupi, Dec 16: DG-IGP of state police Shankar Bidari, on his first visit to the district after assuming charge, held a meeting with top police officers at SP’s chamber here on Friday December 16. Earlier, he held a meeting with Anti Naxal Force (ANF) personnel in Karkala, near here.

Speaking to media persons, Bidari said that he would try to curb the underworld  activities in coastal districts during his term. "Necessary security measures will be taken to curb Naxal menace in the hilly regions of the district," he added.

Bidari also said that he would visit districts across Karnataka every month to oversee the law and order situation. He lauded the district police force for the breakthrough in Sulaiman murder case in Karkala.

Bidari distributed cash awards to policemen for solving major robberies and other criminal cases. Besides, a cash award of Rs 20,000 was presented to a police personnel for his efforts in nabbing the killers of Sulaiman.

Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy, internal security ADGP Harshavardan Raj, Udupi SP Dr Ravikumar Y S and other officers were present.

    accepted that he is DGP of Karnataka.As for your logic he should give direction from Bangalore to UDUPI SP chamber.You know now a days there is no problem everything can get or direct on video Conference.DGP visit to Udupi SP office may customary or Courtesy visit but if he would visited Sullia along with UDUPI it might be more appropriate .On the other part of your comments Western Range IG already visited Sullia for 'few stone' pelting incident in police station of Sullia!! What you say about Pratap Reddy's visit?Is he is an constable?Therefore, I did not see any martial or seriousness in your comments.By the by sitting in USA, for you, it might be few stone pelting incident but it might be sleepless night to those injured police personnel and those who were booked!

    He is DGP not police constable,,, Commanders Conduct wars sitting in War Rooms not in battlefields....

    Prior to 17th century Commanders were fighting wars with soldiers in the field,,, last one was Tippu in 1799......,,, and you know what happened to him.

    Its his job to give directions as Director General of Police DGP my friend.....

    A few stones on Police Station,,, and DGP should vist PS ???
