Mangaluru, Nov 29: Following the earlier arrest of three individuals for selling MDMA, the Konaje police, in a follow-up operation, apprehended the fourth accused in the case.
Mohammed Almaz (24), son of Umar Farooq and a resident of Indabettu village near Bantwal, was arrested near Moodipu on charges of supplying MDMA to the previously arrested trio.
The police seized 53 grams of MDMA, a stock pot, a car, and two mobile phones, collectively valued at Rs 7.77 lac, from the accused.
This brings the total seizure in the case to 103 grams of MDMA and other items worth Rs 15.53 lac.
The initial arrests on November 25 included Gautam (22), Karthik (27), and Nikhil (28), who were caught red-handed selling MDMA near Kambalapadavu in Pajir village under the Konaje police station limits. The trio was in possession of 50 grams of MDMA and other items worth Rs 7.76 lac.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of police commissioner Anupam Agarwal IPS and deputy commissioners of police Siddharth Goyal IPS (law and order) and Dinesh Kumar (crime and traffic). It was led by ACP Dhanya Nayak along with Konaje police and the Anti-Drug Team.
This continued effort reflects the police’s commitment to curbing drug trafficking in the region.
