Bangalore: Yeddyurappa Hopeful of Being Reinstated

Bangalore, Dec 16: In less than four months after being forced to quit by the BJP high command over the illegal mining report submitted by the former Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde and subsequently made to undergo almost three weeks of prison term, dethroned Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa is hopeful of being reinstated soon in the coveted post that he had to relinquish.

Yeddyurappa, who had returned to the State from New Delhi after his three-day stay during which he called on several Central party leaders, BJP national President Nitin Gadkari and senior leader L K Advani, described the visit to the national capital as ''fruitful,”

“The matter (of reinstating as CM) is discussed at the Central party level,” he told reporters here on Friday.

Yeddyurappa, who quit the Chief Minister on July 31 in the wake of being indicted by Justice Hegde in the illegal mining, expressed confidence that he would clear his name in all the cases foisted against him.

Refusing to react on the demands made by the State MPs to the party leadership about his reinstatement as the Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa said the party high command would take a decision on the issue soon.

''The MPs have expressed their views and voiced their demands before the party’s high command. It is for the national leadership to decide,” he said.

Answering questions on the speculation in the media and in the political circles regarding his plans to quit the BJP and form his own regional party, Yeddyurappa said: ''There is no question of quitting the BJP.”

He termed ''rubbish” all speculations in the media about quitting the party and asserted that he had convinced the party leadership that he had been made a victim of the political conspiracy which led to demit the office of the Chief Minister.

Asked about the reports suggesting that he had bargained with the central party leaders to get reinstated as the Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa said that ''there is a feeling which is gaining momentum in the party circles on the issue.”

''My immediate target is to ensure victory of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda in the Council by-election due on December 22,” he said.

However, Yeddyurappa claimed that he was keen to strengthen and rebuild the party organization at all levels and ensure that the party was able to win 150 seats in the next round of Assembly polls.

Bopaiah, Somanna, Ashok, Nirani have continued in Office despite being chargesheeted(or FIR)- So Yeddy is more eligible than others to become C M as he has the added experieince of Parappana Agrahara in his CV!
Once he becomes CM he can appoint Soma as Lokayukta if not Bannurmath. He will be obliged to give him CLEAN CHIT- as Ashok got by his department, can anybody dare defy the chief?
@ Dr S Kamath- can you provide any legal evidence to show Krishna got KICK-BACKS as in the case of Yeddy? That is the difference between the 2, ain't it?

Dear Yeddi.. you say.. Yeddyurappa said the party high command would take a decision on the issue soon…but you never listen to party high command when you were in power and this is known fact to all BJP leaders. We want DVS to rule for another seven years?. We want qualified people to rule the state that is famous for IT and other professionals in USA and Europe. You are a farmer and you can do better for the farmer by becoming agricultural minister of state. Why you want the CM chair?. Because of people like you today DVS has to take MLC entry .

    Hey Ismail K P,
In India we do use the word 'Central' and not 'Federal' although the meaning of Federal is many states uniting under a central leadership with independent charge.
You have comments for every news which is very good. There are very few people with your visionary. Keep it up Sir but the only sad part is you are sitting in KSA, it would have been better if you actively participate in the betterment of your state.

DVS also member of your own party .. He is also energetic, educated person. Yeddy and Ishwarappa both pulling DVS leg for grabing the chair...

Adike kaddaru kalla -Ane Kaddaru kalla.
Once a chor always a chor.
All in the name of politics -fleecing the poor people and filling their own coffers while there is so much at stake in the state to do.ex:
Check the progress of Narenrdra modi in Gujarat?
In fact Karnataka is the richest state in terms of mineral and human resources.
all that these leaders have to do is to manage the men -metrical and money with proper care- transparency-accountability- integrity-dedication and nation comes first policy.
We need professionals and not politicians no talk only actions like in china.
Work like Japanese or the Germans -Israelis and see such small nations where they reached today with total hard work.
First of all work on Grassroot levels- education -good schools- housing for every citizen- provide clean drinking water- employment fro all- Clean -state of art roads - build international standards air -sea ports.
    Build metros .develop satellite towns.
develop water resources for trans[port - irrigation -hydro- drinking water- sewage treatment -garbage collection.
Let the Tatas or Arcelor build steel mills.
no more exports of raw minerals full stop.
bring in more iits/iisc/iims/medical colleges and professional colleges -technical colleges with foreign collaborations especially with Germany-Japan- Israel-Scandinavian countries.
Focus on self employment schemes- and AMUL anand type co-op agro farming.
Home and jobs for all. should be the focus and no more corruption.

If Jaya Lalitha continues as CM of TN even after court proceeding against corruption cases, the question defiantly hounds every one BJP supporters why not Yeddy? We have to look current political scenarios in Karnataka and beyond.SM Krishna also continues in ministry of federal Govt even after
FIR lodged against him!To solve all uncertainty in Karnataka, why not Yeddy?DVS, even though CM, but he cant act up on his own and looking for Yeddy. Therefore, give a chance to Yeddy till this term and then people will decide fate of BJP/YEDDY.GOVT @ STANDSTILL and past 3.5 years it went several time for COMA.
